Locate the accessory packet in the refrigerator and remove the water filter.
2. Take the water filter out of its packaging and remove the cover from the 0-rings. Be sure the 0-rings are still in place after the cover is removed.
NOTE: There may be some water in the filter. Some spilling may occur. Use a towel to wipe up any spills.
3. Align the arrow on the water filter label with the cutout notch in the filter housing and insert the filter into the housing.
4. Turn the filter clockwise until it locks into the housing.
NOTE: If the filter is not correctly locked into the housing, the water dispenser will not operate. Water will not flow from the dispenser.
5. While the compartment door is still open, lift the filter up into the compartment Then, close the filte compartment doo completely.
6. Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes at .5 gp(about 2.5 gallons) to clear the system and preven sputtering.
NOTE: Initial rate may be slower than expected. Full rate should be restored within 24-36 hours.
7. Reset the "replace filter" light, if needed, by holding the reset button for three seconds.

Better than the original in my Whirlpool fridge. This one only lasts 6 months or 200 gallons, but sports an increased flow rate if I remember correctly. The size of the hole at the top was enlarged to handle more flow.
A few suggestions: 1) I like to put some water in it prior to installing. Just a personal preference. 2) After installing, push a gallon of water through the filter to get rid of the initial taste.
I usually push these past their expected lifetime. The water in my area isn't too hard so the filters can last longer depending upon your circumstances. When I taste a slightly odd flavor in the water I swap it with a new one.

The Clatterans water filter does a good filtration job, as it gives our water a pleasant taste all during its filtration life.

Works great, as soon as we put it in the fridge the water pressure was very strong! I guess it needed to be changed.

This water filter is the perfect replacement for my Whirlpool refrigerator. Works as expected. Good price compared to other sites and was cheaper than getting it from the store I bought the refrigerator from.

Works just like in description easy installation. Read all the instructions and do what they say and your all good!!!
How often should you replace your water filter?
- On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.
How do I turn off my filter light to reset?
- If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.
Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?
- Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings
- If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.
I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?
- You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
